v2rayN
RecommendedBoth interfaces are available as x64 installers. Start with Desktop if you’re new; choose WPF for the classic workflow.
Check your Mac’s chip first; choose a Windows interface. Installers are grouped by platform, and setup guides explain how to import your configuration.
v2rayN is for desktop; v2rayNG and v2flyNG are for Android. The clients are free to download. To get started, you’ll also need a subscription or configuration file you’re authorized to use.
Each platform has its own installer. Don’t install packages built for another platform.
Choose the right file for arm64 or x64.
Import it after installation, then verify the connection before adjusting routing.
macOS is shown by default. Switch platforms to update the download links and installation instructions.

| Requirement | What to choose | Where to check or what to do |
|---|---|---|
| Processor architecture | x64; both packages on this page are x64 | Settings → System → About; check System type |
| System compatibility | A supported 64-bit version of Windows; check the installer for the minimum version | Run winver to check your Windows version and confirm compatibility before installing |
| Installation and permissions | A writable installation folder; TUN also requires the appropriate permissions | Complete a standard installation first. Check why permission is requested before granting it. |
If you see a port-in-use warning after importing a configuration, close other proxy apps and check the local listening settings. Reinstalling repeatedly won’t fix a port conflict; installation files and runtime network settings are separate issues.
DMG installers are available for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Open Apple menu → About This Mac and choose based on the chip or processor listed.
| Requirement | What to choose | Where to check or what to do |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Silicon | Apple M-series chip: choose arm64 | Apple menu → About This Mac → Chip |
| Intel | Intel processor: choose x64 | Apple menu → About This Mac → Processor |
| System and permissions | Your macOS version must meet the installer’s requirements; TUN may require additional permissions. | Check your macOS version first, then follow prompts from the app and system to grant permissions. |
“App is damaged,” “can’t be opened,” and “connection failed” point to different issues. For the first two, check that the download completed, the architecture matches, and what the system security alert says. If the app launches but websites still won’t load, check your subscription, system proxy, and DNS. Don’t disable your Mac’s overall security just to open the app.
Xray-core clients. Most mainstream phones released after 2015 can start with arm64, but check that your Android system supports 64-bit apps.
Release listings and package filenames may update at different times. Don’t rely on the filename alone to determine whether an app can be installed over an existing version; the installer checks the package details.
For users already familiar with v2fly configurations. Check that your protocol and transport settings are compatible before switching clients.
| Requirement | What to choose | Where to check or what to do |
|---|---|---|
| App architecture | Choose arm64 for a 64-bit system; choose Universal if unsure | Check device specifications or system information; the processor name alone isn’t enough |
| System compatibility | Your Android version must meet the APK’s requirements | Settings → About phone; check compatibility during installation |
| Permissions | Allow installation from the current source; approve the VPN prompt when connecting for the first time | Grant permission only to the source you’re using, and revoke it after installation if you prefer. |
Open the APK from your browser’s downloads list or a file manager once it’s downloaded. If Android asks to allow “Install unknown apps,” grant access only to the browser or file manager you’re using—not every app. If parsing fails, check that the download completed, then verify your Android version and architecture. If the installer reports a signature conflict, back up the old app’s configuration and check where each version came from. Don’t delete your only configuration copy.
Import your subscription, choose a configuration, tap Connect, and approve the system VPN prompt. Android generally allows only one app to use the VPN connection at a time, so other VPN tools may conflict. If the connection drops when the screen locks, check battery optimization and background restrictions. Don’t change every battery setting before verifying your configuration.
Choose deb or rpm based on your distribution, then check your CPU architecture. The primary downloads below are x64; arm64 options are listed separately.
| Requirement | What to choose | Where to check or what to do |
|---|---|---|
| Package format | deb or rpm, matching your distribution’s package manager | Check your distribution name in system information or the software manager |
| Processor architecture | x64 or arm64, matching your system architecture | System Information → Hardware or Operating System type |
| Desktop and dependencies | A graphical desktop environment, compatible runtime dependencies, and installation permissions | Review the installer’s dependency list and error details |
Desktop environments can handle system proxy settings differently. Launching the app doesn’t mean every program will automatically use the proxy. First check whether your browser uses the desktop proxy settings, then troubleshoot routing and DNS. TUN requires system network permissions; configure it separately after the standard proxy works.
Before upgrading, use the client’s backup feature or quit the app and save a copy of its configuration folder. Note your subscription groups, routing choices, and local ports, especially any custom rules. Don’t post configurations containing private subscription URLs in public forums, and don’t assume a completed download is a backup.
For your first installation, import one working subscription source and select a single server configuration. Test browser access. Once the system proxy works, adjust routing and DNS; set up TUN only if you need it to handle traffic from more apps. Change one setting at a time to pinpoint what affects the connection.
Before quitting the desktop client, make sure the system proxy is cleared or restored as needed. If the app is closed but your browser still points to a local proxy port, websites may not load. After disconnecting on Android, check the system VPN status too, so leftover network settings aren’t mistaken for an installation problem.
Check architecture and installation prompts first, then troubleshoot subscription and network issues.
Open About This Mac from the Apple menu. If Chip shows an Apple M-series chip, choose Apple Silicon (arm64). If Processor shows Intel, choose Intel (x64). Match the installer to your Mac’s architecture, not its purchase year.
For a first installation, start with Desktop, which features a newer cross-platform interface. Choose the classic WPF version if you prefer its familiar layout and workflows. Back up your configuration before switching. Don’t run both versions with system proxy enabled or on the same local ports.
Most mainstream phones released after 2015 can use arm64, but some devices run older 32-bit systems. Check which app architectures your system supports. If you’re unsure, choose the universal build; it includes components for multiple architectures and is usually larger.
The installer contains the client only, not server settings. Get a subscription link or configuration file that you’re authorized to use, import it, and choose a server. Enable the system proxy or TUN if needed. The provider determines the subscription content, validity, and access permissions.
Usually, back up your configuration, quit the old version, and update with a new installer for the same architecture. Follow the installer’s instructions. When switching interface versions or configuration folders, don’t overwrite your only configuration backup. After updating, check subscription groups, routing, and local ports before enabling the proxy.
Check your browser’s downloads list to see whether the download started or paused for a permission prompt. Then check disk space, the save location, and your network connection. If your current proxy isn’t working, retry using the original button once you have a working connection. Don’t install an incomplete download or try opening it by changing its file extension.
